Canning and Clyde
Healthy Streets Project
Canning & Clyde residents' views
We will need everyone’s views – whether or not they have a car. The Census 2021 showed that 51% of residents in our two roads do not have access to a car or van. Rest assured - as before, we in Canning and Clyde will present all residents' views. We will say how many residents think one way or another. We will quote (anonymously) all opinions given to us.
Croydon Council is putting forward proposals that will send approx 500 cars along Clyde Road and also approx 500 cars along Canning Road each evening between 7.00 pm and 10.30 pm.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE AFFECTED AND HOW MANY CARS?
Canning and Clyde has 1,405 residents living in 693 households (2021 Census).
51% of residents do not have access to a car or van (2021 Census).
That means – most evenings out of 365 days a year, 1,405 residents will experience heavy traffic of approx 500 cars between 7.00 pm and 10.30 pm. That’s a lot of people negatively impacted.
