Canning and Clyde
Healthy Streets Project
Canning & Clyde residents' views
We will need everyone’s views – whether or not they have a car. The Census 2021 showed that 51% of residents in our two roads do not have access to a car or van.
The Council's Project Manager put Canning & Clyde in an East Croydon / Addiscombe West with ECCO (East Croydon Communities Organisation) which includes TACRA (Tunstall and Addiscombe Court Road). Together we cover the area from Cherry Orchard Road to Clyde Road.
At our East Croydon / Addiscombe West's insistence - we will now be given adequate time to consult with residents on ideas put forward at the first Co-design session on 27 January 2024. As yet we do not have definite dates between which this consultation will take place.
We will give every resident in our roads the opportunity to know what is happening and to give their opinion or new ideas.
The decision on – and responsibility for - what happens to our roads will be made by the Directly Elected Mayor of Croydon, Jason Perry.
Rest assured - as before, we in Canning and Clyde will present all residents' views. We will say how many residents think one way or another. We will quote (anonymously) all opinions given to us.
